HIGHLIGHTS IN THE CARIBBEAN & MEXICO:
  • Go whale watching in Samaná Bay, Dominican Republic. This is one of the best places to observe humpback whales in their natural environment and between January and March you are virtually guaranteed to see them!

  • Take a tour in the birthplace of Rum – Barbados. With over 1500 rum outlets, there are no shortages of places to sample the country’s national drink! Join a tour at Mount Gay Refinery, Barbados’ oldest distillery, or visit Foursquare Rum Distillery & Heritage Park, a 350 year old plantation house featuring a small traditional rum distillery.

  • Head to Shirley Height’s lookout in Antigua. Across the bay from Neilson’s Dockyard, this is the perfect place to watch the sunset. Don’t miss the legendary Sunday nights here with barbeques, steel bands and calypso music.

  • Climb to the top of Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica. There are many special waterfalls on the island, but this is one of the most visited, and one of Jamaica’s national treasures.

  • Snorkel the Great Mayan Reef off the coast of Mexico, the world’s second largest reef after Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Take a trip to the island of Cozumel where the snorkelling and diving is fantastic!

BEST TIME TO VISIT:

December to April is generally considered the best time to visit the Caribbean, when it is slightly cooler, drier and less humid. The rains start in June, with the most prolific months for hurricanes as September and October.

ANTIGUA

Beach lovers will be right at home on this island with a total of 365 beaches, that’s one for each day of the year! You’ll be spoilt for choice - idyllic coves and sweeping bays with miles of endless white sands. The island was once a British colony so you can see British influences all around, combined with the laid-back vibe of the Caribbean. Make sure you head to Shirley Heights at sunset for incredible views!

BAHAMAS

Paradise awaits in the Bahamas – 700 islands with sugary white sand beaches and pristine blue waters. This country is the epitome of luxury, covered with glamorous resorts and exclusive superyachts. Have a go at the wide range of water sports on offer, hit the shops and upmarket boutiques for a bit of retail therapy, explore the underwater caves or have a round of golf on one of the spectacular courses.

BARBADOS

This diverse island has everything from beachfront living through to upscale luxury resorts. Stunning landscapes and white-sand beaches are the definition of paradise, so take to a hammock with a rum cocktail in hand and relax whilst soaking up the sunshine. This island also has some great nightlife and amazing restaurants, offering everything from fine-dining to street food – don’t miss Oistins’ famous fish fry!

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

One of the larger countries in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic has diverse scenery, from the 1,000 miles of coastline to the rolling sugar plantations, freshwater lakes and spectacular mountain backdrops. Whether it’s relaxation or adventure you are looking for, this country has it all – explore the cobblestoned streets of the historic capital Santa Domingo or head to Punta Cana for a naturally idyllic beach setting.

JAMAICA

Delight all your senses in Jamaica, an island rich in heritage where reggae beats, jerk chicken and rum are found in abundance. Head to bohemian Negril with its quirky hotels, stunning sunsets, Jamaica’s finest beaches and a display of dizzying cliff diving from the locals. You can visit coffee plantations, climb to the high peaks of the Blue Mountains for spectacular views or swim in the enchanting waters of Dunn’s River Falls.

MEXICO

Offering a taste of the Caribbean in Latin America, with everything from pristine beaches to tropical jungles and mystical Mayan temples just waiting to be explored. The lively resorts of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen offer magnificent beachfront resorts and great nightlife, the laid-back town of Tulum is the spot for exploring the historical sites, or for something more peaceful head to the quaint island of Isla Mujeres.
